Favorite TV Shows #50 - 41

50. The Bachelor/Bachelorette (2002 - present, 2003 - present) - For some unknown reason I was really into the first season of The Bachelor back in the early 2000's. I remember how badly I wanted Trista to win and how confused and shocked I was when that moron Alex chose Amanda over her. I remember wishing that his relationship with Amanda would be miserable and hoping she would torture him for the rest of his life.
Well, there is a little song by Garth Brooks called "Unanswered Prayers" and it may be the most true, inspiring, and motivating song ever written. I prayed to God during every rose ceremony that Alex would give Trista a rose, and every rose ceremony God answered my prayers; until the FINAL rose.
The point of the song is that sometimes God may hear your prayers, and while, at the moment you may think that what you are praying for is the most important thing you will ever pray for in your life, God knows what is best for you in the long run. God may hear your prayers, but choose to not answer them the way you desire.
That is exactly what happened with my prayers for Trista. After being rejected by Alex, she went on to become the first ever Bachelorette and chose Ryan, who was also, obviously, my favorite. The two went on to become happily married with children, and the world is now a much better place.

I then, led a normal life for about 7 years, and like many other men my age, did not watch the Bachelor or Bachelorette; and honestly did not even know it was still on.

All that changed when I recently got sucked back into the show after I became involved with forming a reality team for the Tough Mudder race, which would benefit charity. Three Bachelors from the Bachelorette joined our team; Chris L, Tyler, and Kasey (also featured on the Bachelor Pad 2) and Peyton from the Bachelorette and Bachelor Pad joined us for the weekend. All four of them are great people. They are genuine, kind, and an absolute blast to be with. I will, however, be cursing them (for re-kindling my interest in the show) every Monday night when I am drinking wine, and fighting back tears while watching rejected Bachelors and Bachelorettes sob while being driven away from the mansion in a limo.

I fear it is now too late for me to stop watching the show and hope it gets canceled soon so I don't have to question my masculinity any longer.

49. Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000 - Present) - Created by, written by, produced by, and starring Larry David; it is pretty safe to say that Larry David is one of my favorite people of all time. Anybody that has even remotely the same sense of humor as myself will not be able to watch one episode of Enthusiasm without laughing out loud. Larry David (on the show) has just about the worst luck of any human being alive, and really, if you can't laugh at other people's misfortune, what can you laugh at?

Its hard to not laugh just looking at him, isn't it?

48. Perfect Strangers (1986 - 1993) - Luckily children do not give birth to other children because I am pretty confident that if I had a baby boy when I was between the ages of 6-13 I would have certainly named him Balki, after the lovable "Perfect Strangers" character, Balki Bartokomous. It has been almost TWENTY YEARS since I have seen a single second of "Perfect Strangers", but still to this day every time I hear the phrase "Don't Be Ridiculous" I can't help but to think of Balki saying it to cousin Larry. I have to agree with Balki, cousin Larry was often quite ridiculous, and a gigantic nerd to boot.

47. I Love Money (2008 - 2010) - With names like Whiteboy, Toastee, 12 Pack, Nibblz, It, Corn Fed, and Hot Wings, how can you not be enthralled? "I Love Money" is a competition reality show on VH1 that stars rejects from the "Love" shows such as "Flavor of Love" (which I refuse to watch) "Rock of Love" (which I never missed an episode) and "I Love New York" (which is a complete train wreck.) Normally I would not watch shows like this, but the people on these shows are just so insane and mentally unstable that it is quite entertaining. Watching people in their late 20's to early 30's act the way that these people act makes me realize that I have not done too bad for myself and it is always nice to get that reassurance every once in a while. Thanks for the self esteem boast VH1.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that one of the contestants from "I Love Money 3" allegedly killed his girlfriend, then killed himself, VH1 has decided to end "I Love Money" and go back to being an awful channel. Thanks a lot, guy. How selfish can you get?

46. The Wonder Years (1988 - 1993) - While I did love "The Wonder Years" it probably would have come in on the list a little higher if I was just a few years older. I remember not really understanding some of the show because I was not familiar with some of the references. Regardless, the show was completely different from anything else at the time and is widely know as one of the greatest shows of our time. I think the show was so successful because the characters were so relatable and you either loved them or hated them. With that being said, how could I NOT rank my favorite main characters on the Wonder Years....

7.  Jack Arnold. I really did not like this father. He was mean, scary, and to be honest, I was not at all upset to hear that his character died in 1975.

6.  Wayne Arnold. He was such a bully to Kevin and extremely mean to him, but it really isn't his fault I guess; look at his awful dad.

5.  Paul Pfeiffer. Really, Kevin. You couldn't get any cooler friends than him? And No, he is not Marilyn Manson, so don't even ask.

4.  Karen Arnold. I had a huge crush on her for the first few seasons when she was fun, free-spirited and hot. However, once she got knocked up and became responsible and a hard working mom, I was all set with her and she became totally useless to me.

3.  Norma Arnold. What a sweet, kind, loving, caring mom. She is only at number 3 because she married her husband; the meanest man alive.

2-1.  Kevin Arnold / Winnie Cooper. Even I, list making master, can't decide who to place at number 1. So, for the first time ever, there are two winners. I feel as though it is the only right thing to do, and am sure the public will agree. If not, you're heartless and please stop reading my blog.

45. Pop Up Video (1996 - 2002) - About a month ago something life-changing happened to me. It was just suppose to be a typical day; a day like any other, but it turned out to be anything but typical. I was in San Diego International airport, alone, extremely hungover, and trying to put myself back together. A typical day. I bought an Entertainment Weekly magazine (the special Fall TV Preview that I pick up every year.) As I was perusing though the pages I stumbled upon the pullout Fall TV calender and that is when everything suddenly came to a screeching halt. Was I seeing correctly? Or were my barely open eyes playing tricks on me? After taking a big gulp of my delicious Jamba Juice (product placement????) and refocusing my eyes I realized it was not a dream. POP-UP VIDEO IS COMING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, you heard it here first (unless you already heard it somewhere else.) The premiere is not months away, or weeks away. New Episodes of Pop Up Video will be on our television TOMORROW NIGHT 10/3/2011 at midnight. VH1 has ordered 60 New Episodes and life has just gotten a hell of a lot better.
If they replaced the sound of the bubbles popping I wont even watch it though, that is my favorite part. So lets keep our fingers crossed.

To hold us over until tomorrow night I have attached Meatloaf's Pop Up Video for "I Would Do Anything for Love, But I Won't Do That." Don't ask me why, it was the first video I saw on youtube.

First Beavis and Butthead return and now Pop Up Video. I am not sure I can take too much more excitement.

44. ER (1994 - 2009) - "ER" is one of my favorite Drama's of all time, 5th to be exact. Of the 15 seasons I probably only watched 8 or 9. I watched all through high school (1994 - 1998) probably zero times during college (1998 - 2003) and maybe 3 or 4 seasons post college. My point is, I grew up watching "ER" as did many of us. Sure, the story lines were a little ridiculous sometimes, but all in all I was often really entertained by it, and besides HBO/SHO dramas I don't really get into Dramas too much. ER's cast member list is one of the most impressive list of actors and actresses of any show ever. As a kid, watching "ER" made me consider becoming a doctor; it looked fun. However, as I have said before, the sight of blood, guts and bodily fluids sickens me and I came to terms with the fact that I would be the worst doctor of all time. Therefore, I became a teacher, and as luck would have it, have to listen to kids blow their disgusting noses by my desk six hours a day. Funny how things work.

43. Big Bang Theory (2007 - Current) - "Big Bang Theory" should be happy that I am making this list when I am. I was obsessed with the first few seasons and thought that it was one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. Last season, however, the show started to lose a little bit of its humor, and this year so far has been no different. I think that Jim Parsons who plays Sheldon, is one of the best comedic actors around today, but he can only do so much with the script he is given.
Something that drives me absolutely crazy about the "Big Bang Theory" is the laugh track. It has almost ruined the show for me. The laugh track for this show is way too obnoxious and in your face. I'm sorry, but I don't need a laugh track to tell me that something is funny and I should be laughing. The four best comedies on television right now The Middle (which I wish I placed MUCH higher on this list than I did because it is hysterical), Modern Family, The Office, and Parks and Recreation all do not have laugh tracks and it is much more pleasurable. For those of you that watch "Big Bang Theory" listen for it next time you watch it and you will see what I mean. I apologize in advance for making you not love the show anymore.
With all that being said, the show is still very funny at times, and has moments of brilliance. Those moments are just few and far between now.
It does, however, have the best theme song on television (which I have memorized every word to the extended version by Barenaked Ladies and have sang it to my middle school students many many times.)

42. America's Funniest Home Videos (1989 - Present) - I don't really remember a time before "America's Funniest Home Videos." This was the one show that my parents, my brother and I always watched every Sunday night. How could you NOT love this show? In my opinion there is absolutely nothing funnier on the entire planet than watching people fall or mildly injure themselves. A half hour of watching videos that show people falling or injuring themselves is just pure television gold.
This show could easily be my favorite show of all time if it was not for one thing. I hate more than anything the videos where people are faking or reenacting. It drives me crazy and it is difficult to watch. I have a uncanny ability to spot "fake" videos and it really turns me off. Also, while absolutely hysterical to watch, when are the middle aged, overweight woman in our country going to learn that they should not be water skiing? Leave that to the young,  fit people that are not going to face plant off the dock and into the muddy, murky water. Smarten up ladies.

41. California Dreams (1992 - 1996) - I am not sure why I loved this show so much, but I did, and have no remorse. It was my Saturday morning ritual to stumble out of bed, have about 2 bites of toast, and watch "California Dreams" and "Saved by the Bell" before heading off to one of my Swim Meets. Many of you may not remember this show, but I suggest you check out the opening and refresh your memory. If you don't recall the theme song (which is without a doubt one of the greatest theme songs of all time) then you probably have never seen the show, which makes me very sad for you.

Seasons 3-5

Season 1

OK. Maybe Kelly Packard had a LOT to do with my love of the show, but it was about being in a band, and what kid doesn't dream of being in a band? Here is a reunion that the cast did last year on the Jimmy Fallon show. If I had known this was taken place I would have given up my first born son to be in the audience.

That seriously might be the most depressing video clip I have ever seen in my life. Why do people have to get old?

Favorite TV Shows #60 - 51

60. Beavis and Butt-Head (1993 - 1997) - I understand how completely ridiculous and foolish this show is, but, I'm sorry, I love it. It has been fourteen yeas since I have seen a single second of "Beavis and Butt-Head" and just when I think I am never going to hear from them again the unthinkable happens; MTV RENEWS THE SHOW. Yes, you heard it here first. On October 27, 2011 Beavis and Butt-Head will make their triumphant return to the small screen.
For those of you that may not be familiar with Beavis and Butt-Head I will include this description of the boys courtesy of wikipedia.......
"The show centers on two socially awkward, rock/metal-loving teenage delinquents, Beavis and Butt-head (both voiced by Judge), who live in the fictional town of Highland, Texas. They have no apparent adult supervision at home, are woefully undereducated, dim-witted, barely literate and lack any empathy or moral scruples. Their most common shared activity is watching music videos, which they tend to judge by deeming them "cool", or by claiming, "This sucks!"

Is it 10/27/11 yet?????????

Butthead gets the most dreaded of all phone calls; he has to go back into work. Butthead and I are so similar sometimes.

59. Boy Meets World (1993 - 2000) - I have a special place in my heart for "Boy Meets World" because the kids on the show were exactly my age. We were in 7th grade together, we went to high school together, we got our drivers license together, we graduated together, we went to college together. Then, all of a sudden, my friends Cory and Topanga decided to get MARRIED. What?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! How could they do this to me? Was I now expected to get married just because they did. I felt lost and confused and did not know where to turn. Luckily my next door neighbor (who was also my teacher for 7 years in a row) gave me some good advise and assured me that I did not have to get married just because the cast of "Boy Meets World" did. Mr. Feeny is the man.

58. Make Me a Supermodel (2008 - 2009) - This is BY FAR the most embarrassed I am about any of the 100 shows on the countdown. I didn't want to really enjoy this show, I promise. I started watching because, as always, I had money riding on the outcome. My roommate and I placed $$$ on each of the contestants we choose to be on our "team." If that person won the show, we got that amount of cash. Simple. However, as the season went on I actually started to really like the show and would more than likely have watched it even if I was not gambling on it. Unfortunately, this is the one show that I lost some money on. The first season I believe I lost only $20 to the winner, Holly, which was a shocker. But the second season, that handsome little devil Branden cost me $100, that bastard. Jonathan was a MUCH better model that he will ever be. I still get angry just thinking about it.
Anyway, great show and hopefully it will return one of these days.

Season 1 winner -

I'm ok with losing $20 for her.

image
Season 2 Winner, Branden. Nice kid, but I am NOT ok with losing $100 for him.

Jonathan Waud Interview -- JustJared.com Exclusive
Jonathan and I got robbed. Combined, him and I got robbed out of $100,100.

Yes. I know. I have issues.

57. Facts of Life (1979 - 1988) - I do not even care what the show is about, when you have a theme song as good as this one, there is no way I am going to not watch it. For whatever reason, I find myself singing the "Facts of Life" theme song at least once a month.

Throughout the years my favorite Facts of Life girl has changed over and over again. It would be impossible for me to rank Jo, Natalie, Blair and Tootie now. What I do know, however, is that I despised that nerdy little dork that came towards the end of the series.

I have NO idea why I hated him so much, but is more than likely that I was just extremely jealous of him getting to live with the "Facts of Life" girls.

56. Melrose Place (1992 - 1999) - I am pretty sure I do not need to say this, but when I say "Melrose Place" I am obviously referring to the original show and not the ill received redux version that came back in 2009. Technically, I am only referring to about the first three or four seasons of the original show. I LOVED the first few seasons and for some reason, lost all interest as the show went on. I think it was because of all the cast changes. I really liked the original 8 cast members, but as they left and began being replaced, I began to separate myself from the show. I did not want new people moving into Melrose Place and recking havoc on Grant Show and co.

Favorite Melrose Placers

10. Marcia Cross  Dr. Kimberly Shaw. VERY hot, but completely Crazy. I think she died and came back to life 5 times.

9. images/D/Daphne Zuniga/Daphne Jo. Too much of a tomboy for me. Is she the same Jo from "Facts of Life?"

8. Doug Savant Matt. Nice guy, but boring. You're gay. I get it.

7. Laura Leighton's character Sydney. Crazy is an understatement.

6. Thomas Calabro Dr. Michael Mancini. The only cast member to be on every season. Do you know how good that must look on his resume?

5. Heather Locklear Hairstyle  Amanda Woodward. Special Guest Star for 6 seasons.

4. AKA Courtney Thorne Smith  Allison. When she left, the show had no chance.

3. Actor Andrew Shue attends the Billy. See above. They were the King and Queen of Melrose Place.

2. Grant Show  Jake. He is Melrose Place. Period.

1. Josie Bissett  Jane. Josie Bissett is a gift from God.

55. Rock of Love (2007 - 2009) - Nothing makes me feel better about myself than watching an episode of "Rock of Love." Each of the Rock of Love seasons did have about 1 or 2 normal girls in the cast, but the other 23-24 are straight out of the nut house.
I have no idea why I am so entertained by this awful show, but I am. When the first season ended I promised myself that I would not watch a second season. I did. When season 2 ended I promised myself that I would not watch a third season. I did. Thank God that the show did not come back for a fourth season because I became sick of letting myself down and wasting 15 hours of my life on this ridiculous, insanely awesome reality show.

Imagine being one of the first girls eliminated on this show. That is saying a LOT.

54. Doogie Howser MD (1989 - 1993) - If only "America's Got Talent" was around in the early 90's I would be a millionaire now. A little known talent of mine is that I can play the theme song of "Doogie Howser M.D." flawlessly. Still today, when asked to tickle the ivory by adoring fans, I will always start with my go-to, the theme song to this amazing show. I may show my 4th graders the entire series because nothing made me want to do better in school than Doogie. I wanted to be a child doctor just like him. However, my paralyzing fear of needles, blood, and bodily fluids kind of put a damper on that dream. My teachers must have wondered why I was such a good student on Thursday mornings. Little did they know that it was just because I was motivated by Dr Howser every Wednesday night. Ultimately, after about 45 seconds of diagramming sentences I was no longer paying attention and refocusing my dreams on something that did not require me to be the greatest student (like becoming a child actor and starring in the sequel to Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.)

If you have not yet heard me play this tune on the piano, you don't know what you're missing. It is a must-hear.

53. Who's the Boss (1984 - 1992) - Ah, the age old question. Was it male, live-in housekeeper, Tony? Was it divorced, mean advertising executive, Angela? Was it the slutty grandmother, Mona? or could it possibly have been the beautiful, popular, perfect daughter, Samantha? We all know that it was certainly NOT the nerdy, momma's boy, Jonathan.
"Who's the Boss?" ran for eight seasons and was a top 10 show for four seasons. However, season eight took a complete nose-dive and didn't even make the top 75 shows of the season. Pathetic. Producers obviously knew they were in trouble and very quickly ended the show, never answering the question of who the boss really was. I still vividly remember watching the series finale of the show. I was at my Aunt Cathy's house watching with my brother and cousins, Chad, Paul and Lisa. It aired on the same night as the series finale of MacGyver and Growing Pains. I remember being very emotional and requesting to go home before the finale of Growing Pains because I did not want to cry in front of everyone and be made fun of. I was strong enough to keep my emotions in check for "Who's the Boss", I remember being forced to take a bath during MacGyver (which I was totally fine missing) and really fell apart saying good-bye to the Seaver family. No 12 year old kid should have to go through all those emotions in one night. It was traumatic, and a night I will never forget.

Can it please be 1986 again?

52. Just the Ten of Us (1988 - 1990) - The fact that there was only three seasons of this show is an absolute travesty. Granted, I could not stand the parents, but I was in love with all the daughters. The show got the axe not because of lackluster ratings, but because of the politics at ABC and their fear of placing a "edgy" show like "Just the Ten of Us" in the brand new, wildly popular "TGIF" line-up.
I will never forgive ABC for killing "Just the Ten of Us" so soon, but I have decided to end my nearly 20 year boycott of the channel with their additions of "The Middle" and "Modern Family." It has taken some time, but I think I am close to finally being able to move on and let "Just the Ten of Us" finally rest in peace.
If you have never seen "Just the Ten of Us", which is a spin-off of the epic "Growing Pains" then you have no clue what you are missing and I highly suggest that you do yourself a favor and check it out. You deserve it.

I finally understand what it means to miss something. I may watch that opening every single day for the next year.

51. Step by Step (1991 - 1998) - With this show, the modern day version of "The Brady Bunch" I know that the countdown is getting pretty serious. Anyone that knows me well knows that I have a VERY special place in my heart for the Brady family. I had no choice but to love "Step by Step." It is the closest I will ever get to what it must have felt like watching "The Brady Bunch" air original episodes.
If I had a "list of things to do before I die" at the age of 14, I am 100% positive that my #1 thing on the list would be to go on the roller coaster that was featured in the opening shots of "Step by Step." Fourteen year old Ryan would be mortified that 17 years later, 31 year old Ryan, still does not even know where that roller coaster is.
14 year old Ryan, I am sorry that I have let you down. If it makes you feel any better, it is now 2011 and "The Real World" is still on and in its 25th season. Thought that might help.

Can someone please do some research and let me know where this stupid roller coaster is so I can make 14 year old Ryan's dream come true?

100 Favorite TV Shows of All Time - #70 - 61

70. Reno 911! (2003 - 2009) - Reno 911 is one of only a handful of shows on the countdown that I did not watch on a regular basis. However, I laugh out loud every time I watch the show, and not many shows make me laugh out loud. Every character on Reno 911! is memorable and anyone would be lucky to have such hilarious friends. Reno 911! is the modern day Police Academy, but funnier and more edgy. If you have not seen Reno 911! I recommend buying a season on DVD, watch the entire season in a day or two, and calling me up and telling me how right I am. I looked for a youtube clip to include, but they were all WAY too inappropriate for me to put on the blog. I am a HUGE fan of inappropriateness, which is why I love the show so much.

69. Dancing with the Stars (2005 - Present) - I don't necessarily enjoy watching Dancing with the Stars, I simply like betting money on Dancing with the Stars. I have placed bets on about 5 or 6 seasons of the show, and I have won some cash in the process. I am sorry, but, anytime I can put $5 on Florence Henderson winning a show and me getting $5,000 for it is ok in my book. Obviously Florence did not come close to winning, but it certainly made me watch and even vote. There is not one single bone in my body that could care any less about who wins Dancing with the Stars, however, if I can bring two of my favorite things together (TV and gambling) watching three hours a week of D-list celebrities prancing around in leotards seems like a small price to pay.

Celebrities that have won me cash on Dancing with the Stars:
* Apolo Anton Ohno
* Helio Castroneves
* Brooke Burke
* Nicole Scherzinger
* Jennifer Grey

68. Roseanne (1988 - 1997) - Roseanne is another show that I hate with a passion now, but absolutely loved when I was a kid. The mere sight of Roseanne makes me angry. Ever since she purposely butchered the National Anthem I lost any respect I had for her (which wasn't much to begin with.) I have no idea why so many Americans loved the show; what the hell was wrong with us? She is one of the most disgusting, vile, trashy woman to ever appear on an American sitcom, and for some reason just about everyone, including myself, loved her. I do find it comforting to know that I was only a kid when it aired and obviously did not know any better.

OK. Maybe I was a little harsh in my write-up. I found this clip and it is very funny. I don't know why I had so much anger towards Roseanne, but I feel a little bad about it now.

OK. I hate her again.

67. South Park (1997 - Present) - It is fitting that the show is making an appearance on my countdown as the boys of South Park are in the fourth grade and that is the grade I will be teaching next school year. I am sure that the South Park boys would be favorite students of mine as I appreciate a student with humor more than anything. It was not until the movie "South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut" that I began to love South Park. The movie is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time and makes me laugh probably more than any movie ever. I have not seen an episode of South Park in years, but I imagine that it is still hilarious and bringing laughter and warmth to a whole new generation.

As with any and all South Park clips: Viewer Discretion is Advised. Words of wisdom by Mr. Garrison

66. Sopranos (1999 - 2007) - Before people get all fired up about me placing this so low on the list, let me explain. I only watched a few seasons of the show, and while I did think it was entertaining, I simply did not get as obsessed as most people. First of all, I am not a huge fan of dramas, let alone gangster/mob shows/movies. I went into watching The Sopranos with the idea that there was no way I was going to like it, and it turns out that I did enjoy it.
I was, however, not upset when it ended, in fact, I did not even watch the final episode. I am sure that if I watched the series from beginning to end I would appreciate it much more, but in all honesty, that will probably never happen and I am fine with that. I can live the rest of my life saying the I thought The Sopranos was "good" and not feel guilty that I do not think it was the greatest thing to come on television since Bonanza.

65. The Cosby Show (1984 - 1992) - The Cosby Show enters the countdown as my second favorite television show about an African-American family of all time. If making this countdown has taught me anything at all, it is that my childhood fears were completely irrational and I realize that I must have been very messed up as a child. The reason I say this is because I am just about 100% positive that I had a terrible fear of the eldest Cosby daughter, Sondra.
Sure, she is a COMPLETE nerd and just about as boring and lame as a person can get, but really, is there any need to be frightened of her........
Sabrina Le Beauf Picture

Anyway, The Cosby Show is widely regarded as being one of the greatest comedies in the history of television and it is well deserved. I just wish that they opted out of Sondra's character. Also, what kind of a name is Sondra? That is just stupid.
......I was going to stop there, but when I just typed that last line I got an image in my head. I envisioned myself asking somebody who their favorite character on The Cosby Show was. I am confident that if their response was "Sondra" I would not be able to control myself from spitting in their face and walking away, utterly disgusted.

64.  Punky Brewster (1984 - 1988) - If you have been an avid follower of ryanscountdowns.blogspot.com for the past 9 months you will know that I have mentioned Punky Brewster before in prior countdowns. Not just Punky Brewster, but one specific Punky Brewster scene in particular. If involves Cherie, Punky's BFF.
It all started out as a simple game of hide-and-seek, but soon took a horrible turn. Dumb Cherie decided it would be wise to hide in an old refrigerator that Uncle Henry irresponsibly left in the back yard. Wouldn't you know, Cherie gets locked in the fridge and nearly perishes. If it wasn't for Uncle Henry and Allen we could have lost Cherie. This scene made 6 year old Ryan paranoid that the refrigerator door would shut on me and I would freeze to death. I think all of us children that watched this episode learned a very valuable lesson, NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER hide in the fridge when playing Hide-and-seek; hide in the oven. You can't freeze to death in an oven.
Here is the memorable scene.
The 6:24 mark is when things start going down.

Riveting.

63. The Middle (2009 - 2011) - One of my favorite new shows on television in the past few years is "The Middle." The writers do such a great job of making the family seem like a real, average, American family. Every character is relatable and I feel like I know them personally. All three of the children are such train-wrecks that it is impossible for the parents to not feel bad for themselves. I can easily see myself having a child of mine turning out like the eldest child, Axl, who is extremely lazy, sarcastic, and mean to his siblings. However, if I ever had a child of mine turn out to be similar to either of the other two children (Sue or Brick) I would seriously consider giving them up for adoption. I do, however, enjoy laughing at them and watching them on television.
If you have never seen the show, watch the following trailer. Hilarious.

62. Saturday Night Live (1975 - Present) - There have been some episodes and even seasons of "Saturday Night Live" that I would place way above #62. However, there are some episodes/seasons that I would not even place in the top 100. SNL is pretty hit or miss and when it is good, it is great, and when it is bad, it is awful. There are not many things I enjoy watching less than a bad SNL skit. Right about now I would normally include a "list within a list" of my favorite SNL skits of all time, and maybe even my favorite SNL actors or spin-off movies, but those are lists that even I do not wish to undertake.
I will, however, include this clip; an instant classic TV moment...

61. Charles in Charge (1984-1985, 1987-1990) - I can't imagine many people not loving this show. Nicole Eggert was one of my first crushes ever (as I am sure she was many boys' first crush.) An interesting fact is that Scott Baio actually dated Nicole Eggert for a while. That is almost as crazy as Mrs. Brady dating Greg, but we'll get into that later on in the countdown. Many people forget about the first season of Charles in Charge (with a completely different, much uglier and less funny family.) Real shocker why that didn't work out. When the show came back in 1987 it had made major changes and, boy, did they worked.

Here is the openings for all 5 seasons. The show got much better as Nicole Eggert got better looking. Coincidence?

Finally, here is what the nerdy younger sister looks like today.

Charles taught her real well.
